Football chants that are in films and books but you've never heard at a match.
"here we go here we go here go, here we go here we go here we go"

Never heard this chanted but whenever they show "soccer fans" on tv they have them singing this.

I Remember "North Thames gas" and the shushing sound at the Lane in the 70s.
And one of my all time favourites
"Stamford Bridge is falling down, falling down
Stamford Bridge is falling down, F@ck off Chelsea"

"Build it up with claret and blue, claret and blue, claret and blue
Build it up with claret and blue, f@ck off Chelsea"

Happy days.

I remember in the 1980s or maybe early 90s Millwall chanting
"Where's your caravan" to Ian Bishop when he went to take a corner in front of the South Bank away section.
Have to admit that raised a smile coming from them.

Anyone else remember
"Hit him on the brain, Hit him on the brain with a New Cross train"

I think the standard of terrace chants and songs has definitely fallen. I mean "You're shit, your f@cking shit" is hardly the words of Shakespeare

A couple of Yid-related songs from the early 80s.....
'Tip-toe down the Park Lane, with your skull cap, and your salt beef sandwich,tip-toe down the Park Lane today.'

'Tottenham boys, Tottenham boys, no pork pies or saveloys'

Never heard these days.

It's all Arsenal sing, "by far the greatest team the world has ever seen".

Arsenal were singing this last Thursday in their half full stadium... I don't think they were being ironic.

I miss 'let him die, let him die, let him die'... remember a particularly vocal rendition when Bryan Robson (the Man U one, not ours) had a bad injury in the 80s and had to be stretchered off.... happy days.

Would love some of the old chants get an encore at the last two home games.

Yes, as far as I remember the Shed were the only mob who took this chant seriously. Lead by Micky Greenaway.

I always felt it was a bit naff. Although Greenaway could carry it off.

Zigger Zagger was a Chelsea chant, wasn't it?

Some think the Zigger zagger chant was life imitating art after the hooliganism-centred play of that name, others trace it back to the German military chant Zicke zacke zicke zacke hoi hoi hoi! which pre-dates the Nazis but became popular under them.

I suppose it's feasible that it got chanted on German terraces, and was heard and then imitated by Brits.

Anyway, I don't think it was ever really popular - may have heard it once or twice.

Dagenham and Redbridge used to sing the cringeworthy "Digger dagger, digger dagger, oi oi oi"

I was once required to chant 'Zigger zagger zigger zagger oi oi oi' on stage as a football chant. Never heard it anywhere else.

This thread has gone a bit off topic with all the chants that have been heard at games.

Late 1970s vs Chelsea
What seemed like the entire North Bank singing
"Walker, Walker show us your knob"

Clive Walker had just made the papers for flashing in a swimming pool.

Happy days.....

'Here we go, here we go, here we go' was sung by everybody into the early eighties. Bit like 'hello, hello West Ham aggro, West Ham aggro'. Again, most clubs sung it. And the going home in an ambulance thing.

Age thing, simple as that.

Would be nice if 'Bubbles' was sung at the right tempo and with the original words. Also, how about swaying to it, like we used to. Watching the whole of the original chicken run sway along to Bubbles before every game was a fantastic sight. Gives me goose bumps recalling it.
